Chat and email support

Answer customer messages for shops, apps and telecom brands, usually in shifts that match the client's time zone.

How employers screen it: A 60-second typing test (most ask 35 to 40 WPM), then a short written reply checked for tone and clarity, then a customer-service scenario round.

Step 1 · Check where you stand

This is the real Typing test; your result opens on its own page with every error explained.

Speed challenge

Target: 45 WPM net · backspace allowed · paste off

Step 2 · Fix what the screening catches

Step 3 · Be ready for the interview

1
What is your typing speed, and how do you know?

Give a net figure and where it comes from: "About 42 net WPM at 96 percent accuracy, from daily one-minute tests over the last month." A specific number with a method is more credible than a round guess.

2
Why do we test accuracy as well as speed?

Because the work is read by customers. A fast reply with a wrong name or amount creates a second ticket. Explain that you practise for accuracy first and then speed.

Step 4 · Prove it, then apply

No listings to show right now. Listings come from a third-party job API and change through the day. Search current listings for "chat support".

  3. Day 5: pass at benchmark a second time; your certificate is issued.
  4. Day 6: read the interview set aloud and prepare your own examples.
  5. Day 7: apply to the listings marked as a fit on the job board, quoting your score and code.

Questions about online jobs

Are online jobs real?

Yes. Contact centres, staffing agencies and remote employers hire for chat support, data entry, virtual assistance and transcription, and they screen with short skill tests. Be wary of any offer that asks for a fee or promises fixed daily pay for copy-paste work.

What do most online jobs test first?

Typing speed and accuracy, then written English, then a role skill such as data-entry KPH or Excel. The 60-second check on this page is the most common first screen.

Where do the listings come from?

Third-party job APIs. HomebaseWorks does not post, screen or verify them; check each listing with the employer.
