What the real round usually looks like

Most Selenium interview tests are ten to twenty multiple-choice questions, sometimes followed by a short practical task. The pass mark on this site is 80%, and Selenium is commonly screened for automation tester, SDET and QA engineer roles. Requirements vary by employer, so treat the benchmark as a floor.

Common questions

Do I need to know Java to pass Selenium screenings?

You need one language well. Many screenings use Java, but Python is also common, and the WebDriver concepts are the same in each.

Which Selenium version do these questions assume?

They assume current WebDriver-based Selenium and avoid details that changed between versions. Older Selenium RC is not covered.

Is Selenium enough for an automation role?

Usually not on its own. Employers commonly also look for a test framework, version control, basic CI understanding and API testing.
