Manual testing: practice, test and prove it
Covers SDLC and STLC, test design techniques, severity and priority, bug life cycle and bug reporting.
Manual testing screenings check whether you think like a tester. Questions give a short requirement, such as an age field that accepts 18 to 60, and ask which values to test, how to rate a defect, or what status a bug moves to next. Definitions matter, but applying them to a scenario matters more.
This page lets you practise those scenario questions. The lessons explain boundary value analysis and equivalence partitioning with worked examples, and walk through severity, priority, the bug life cycle and how to write a bug report a developer can act on.
Benchmark: The pass mark on this site is 80%, and manual testing is commonly screened for QA analyst, software tester and test engineer roles. Requirements vary by employer.

Common questions
Do I need coding skills for manual testing roles?
Not usually for entry roles. Basic SQL and an understanding of how web pages and APIs work help, and they make moving into automation easier later.
Is this content based on a certification syllabus?
It uses widely accepted testing terms that also appear in common certification syllabi, but it is written as practical preparation, not as an official exam guide.
Are STLC phase names the same everywhere?
Names vary slightly between companies, but the sequence of analysing requirements, planning, designing tests, preparing the environment, executing and closing is widely used.
