What the real round usually looks like

Most Linux interview tests are ten to twenty multiple-choice questions, sometimes followed by a short practical task. The pass mark is 80%, and Linux basics are commonly screened for technical support, NOC, system administration and junior DevOps roles. Requirements vary by employer, so treat the benchmark as a floor.

How to prepare in three days

  2. Read the lesson that matches the gap and retake the next day.
  3. Read the Linux interview questions aloud so you can explain your score.

Common questions

Which Linux distribution should I practise on?

Ubuntu or another Debian-based distribution is a practical start because guides are easy to find. The commands in this test work the same way on most distributions, except package managers, which differ between families.

Do I need to memorise every command option?

No. Screenings focus on common options such as ls -la, grep -i, find -name and chmod with numbers. Knowing how to check a manual page with man or --help matters more than memorising rare flags.

Is this test enough for a Linux certification?

No. This test checks working basics for entry-level roles. Certifications cover a wider syllabus and go deeper into storage, networking and scripting.
