1
How would you handle an angry customer?

I let them explain without interrupting, then acknowledge the specific problem, for example: "You've waited five days for an order that should have taken two." Next I confirm the details and say what I will do and by when. I keep my tone even and focus on the fix, not on who caused it.

2
Tell me about a time you could not give a customer what they asked for.

Use a short situation-action-result answer. For example: a customer wanted a refund outside the policy window, so I explained the rule plainly and raised an exception request with billing that same day. The customer accepted the outcome because they knew exactly what was happening and when.

3
What does good customer service mean to you?

It means solving the customer's real problem in as few contacts as possible, while leaving them feeling respected. In practice that is listening carefully, giving accurate information, keeping promises on timelines and following up when I said I would.

When would you escalate a case to your supervisor?

When the solution needs authority or access I do not have, when it involves safety, legal or privacy issues, or when the documented steps have not worked. Before escalating, I write a clear summary so the customer does not have to repeat themselves.

5
How do you stay calm with difficult customers through a full shift?

I remind myself that the frustration is about the situation, not about me personally. Between contacts I take a few seconds to reset, and I use a set structure for replies so I do not react on emotion. If a customer becomes abusive, I follow the team policy instead of arguing.

6
How would you improve first-contact resolution in your work?

I would ask one or two clarifying questions before giving a fix, confirm the fix worked before closing, and mention the next step the customer is likely to ask about. I would also note any repeat issue I see so the knowledge base or process can be updated.

Practise out loud. Say each answer once as written, then again in your own words with your own number or story.

Have a number ready. "My Customer service score is at benchmark on a timed test" is a stronger answer than "I am good at it". Take the test and quote the result.
