WordPress: practice, test and prove it
WordPress posts and pages, themes, plugins, child themes, blocks, roles, permalinks, backups and security.
WordPress screenings check whether you can run a site safely for a client, not just install a theme. Typical questions ask where a change should live so an update does not wipe it, which user role a writer should get, what a full backup contains, and how to change URLs without losing traffic. Freelance and agency clients often test the same judgement in a short trial task.
This page covers those decisions. The lessons explain how content, themes and plugins fit together, and how to look after a live site week to week.
Benchmark: The pass mark is 80%, and this skill is commonly screened for WordPress developer, website administrator, content manager and freelance web roles. Requirements vary by employer.

Common questions
Do I need to know PHP for this test?
A little helps, mostly to know where code snippets belong. The questions focus on how WordPress is organised and how to manage a site safely, not on writing plugins.
Does the test cover page builders?
No. It covers core WordPress and the block editor, because those apply to every site whatever builder or theme is added on top.
Is this useful for freelance work?
Yes. Clients commonly ask freelancers to update sites, add features and fix problems without breaking anything, and that is exactly the judgement these questions check.
