What a Typing screening round looks like, five sample questions in the same style, and the full free test with every answer explained.
What the real round usually looks like
Most Typing interview tests are a one-minute timed passage, sometimes repeated, scored on net WPM and accuracy. 35 WPM net at 90% accuracy is the common entry benchmark; chat roles often ask for 40+. Requirements vary by employer, so treat the benchmark as a floor.

Common questions
What typing speed do I need for online typing jobs?
Most entry-level roles ask for 35 words per minute net with 90 percent accuracy. Chat support often asks for 40 to 50. Transcription tends to want 50 or more with near-perfect accuracy. Always check the job description.
What is the difference between gross and net WPM?
Gross counts everything you typed. Net subtracts a penalty for errors, usually one word per error. Employers score net.
Is this test the same as the one employers use?
The formats match what is commonly used: a one-minute business passage, a longer timed passage, and a ten-minute exam-style run. Passages and exact scoring vary by employer, so treat your score here as a reliable estimate rather than a guarantee.
