Your first online job with no experience: a 30-day plan
A week-by-week plan that builds a tested skill, a short profile and a steady application habit.
No experience is not the barrier it looks like for online work, because most entry roles screen a skill rather than a CV. The plan below turns thirty days into a tested skill, a profile and a habit.
Week 1: pick one skill and get a baseline
Take the job readiness check, then take the test it recommends every day. Write the score down. Read the first lesson for that skill.
Week 2: reach the benchmark
Daily test plus the lesson for what you missed. Most people reach the typing or data-entry benchmark in this week if they practise fifteen minutes a day. Once you do, create a free account and download the certificate for your best score.
Week 3: build a one-page profile
- A two-line summary: what you can do, with the number ("Typing 42 WPM net, 96% accuracy").
- Your certificate PDF.
- One sample: a model customer reply from the writing test, or a short spreadsheet you built.
- Availability and time zone, stated plainly.
Week 4: apply on a schedule
Five applications a day, each one matched to the skill you tested. Read the job description twice, answer what it asks, and keep a sheet of where you applied and what happened. Expect silence from most; that is normal. Reply to any test within a day.
What to avoid
Paying for leads, courses that promise placement, and "job registration" fees. Everything you need to be screened is free, here or elsewhere.
